John Harris artwork for an unidentified publication. I think it's depicting the ground terminal of a skyhook.

Why does a robot need to breathe oxygen?
The Ash Android had artificial blood--I think one make of artificial blood actually was white.

I remember seeing a mouse immersed in a perflurocarbon that was able to breathe. This liquid also allowed CRAYs to be cooled.

Beyond 2000 dunked an old CRT into the liquid without shorting out.

If I had to come up-with an in-universe explanation, it might involve liquid cooling...maybe oxygen for artificial versions of biological processes...the individual tearing away at his chest unit looks to have a human head that felt necessary to join the rest of its body in the grave...having seen too much and lived too long.

PS Culttvman' YouTube has footage of the restored TOS Enterprise filmed August 5, 2025.

The Ash Android had artificial blood--I think one make of artificial blood actually was white.
yes, also he drank allot white liquid in Movie

I remember seeing a mouse immersed in a perflurocarbon that was able to breathe. This liquid also allowed CRAYs to be cooled.
That from James Cameron movie ABYSS

If I had to come up-with an in-universe explanation, it might involve liquid cooling...maybe oxygen for artificial versions of biological processes...the individual tearing away at his chest unit looks to have a human head that felt necessary to join the rest of its body in the grave...having seen too much and lived too long.
So far i know Android Data breath air as part of his cooling system

Deleted a bunch of posts related to capes and bullfighting that escalated quickly. I return you to this slightly odd topic about Science Fiction Cover Art I try to ignore.
I regret the unpleasant situation that the video about the capes has produced, the people who follow my work on the forum know that I am against animal abuse. Yesterday I spoke very harshly about the videos in which cats are abused.

It would have been very unfortunate if this incident had led to the closure of a very popular thread in which some of the people I appreciate the most regularly post on the forum.

I must also say that I am tired of the malicious interpretations with which some of my contributions are regularly received in which I am accused of taking drugs, of suffering from some kind of mental illness that requires medication and all kinds of malevolent ironies about my character and my person.

I have been surprised that a topic as popular as SF is barely tolerated here and I regret that I have abused tolerance with my numerous contributions to this thread.

I hope to continue collaborating if I am allowed in other sections, but I will not post in this thread again.

My sincere apologies to all.

I didn't see the kerfuffle about bullfighting before it was cut. It's probably for the best that off-topic discussions that get out of hand be curtailed. However, I take enough pills every morning to make me rattle and I will certainly miss your contributions from your enormous image files. Perhaps you could change your mind on that particular issue?

My sincere apologies to all.
I fully understand your frustrations here. I have also run afoul of some of the more antagonistic Users on here, to the point that I generally avoid posting now. Which is sad, but until the Mods decide to take a more firm stance on some of the confrontational, xenophobic and deliberately provocative behaviour I'll continue with minimal engagement from a distance.

But please continue with the Sci-Fi stuff, this thread continues to amaze me with the weird and niche stuff that people post. Where do you all find it?!

A line between acceptable and unacceptable for me is good faith in argument.

There are people here whose apparent political opinions differ from my own, as mine differ from theirs. That is inevitable in a forum that is essentially about how we've all found ways to kill each other. To the credit of all (well, most), we've discussed the technologies, not the intentions. Whether one votes for one political party in one country versus whether one votes for another political party in a different country is unimportant and argument is meaningless. Yes, there are fundamental ideological differences, but this forum's purpose is not make an issue of such differences here.

I'm not likely to vote for the same political party as so-and-so if I was a citizen of their country, but so what? I respect honesty.

By 'bad faith' I mean the disingenuous pseudo-debate where one does not adhere to consistent principles according to one's own position but uses the forum simply to troll and pick fights to advertise (for example) xenophobic and racial supremacist talking points. An individual who was at one level a source of some useful technical information was simply using that as a gateway to spread his racist propaganda and to troll for his own personal psychological reasons. I think that he's consciously abusing his privileges here but whatever decision the moderators do or should make, my attitude is 'I'm too old for this shit' and I've used the ignore button. Until the mods are more strict about trolls and bad faith, the ignore function is my option.
