Does anyone have more data and images of this prototype open top vehicle at this page http://www.whq-forum.de/cms/470.0.html It is the first black and white picture with the caption "Der ursprüngliche Prototyp des Saurer Schützenpanzers".

It's likely in the "Arsenal" museum in Vienna.
Their tank collection is accessible April-Octobre.

Below you'll find photos of the Saurer Schützenpanzer prototype that come from Brigadier Rolf M. Urrisk's book "100 Jahre. Panzerwaffe im österreichischen Heer". What I could understand from the book is the prototype had been built in 1957-1958 based upon the concept of the Wehrmacht's Sd.Kfz.251 albeit with full-track chassis. Its height was 1967 mm, which was found to be too high in relation to the width of the vehicle.
