Going on vacation in the fall and one of the stops is the SDASM. Anything there I want to make sure not to miss?

Go to there offsite facility at Gillespie Field which is north of San Diego. Aircraft, engines, etc. not presently on display are kept there. Be sure to drive around the airfield too - a few vintage types if you are lucky to catch them out and when I was there in January 2019 (feels like a century ago pre-pandemic), caught an Erickson Skycrane based there. Lufthansa has some Debonairs there for training as well.
