Guys, the SAE Journal, at least issues of the 1920s to 1940s, is a goldmine for piston engine enthusiasts. For example, October 1941 issue has a technical report on the DB 601A with over 20 pages, including metallurgical comparison to the Cyclone (the article was written by Raymond Young of Wright).
