RS-28 Sarmat (SS-X-30) ICBM

Have any of this missile's alleged designations been confirmed as legitimate - GRAU index 15A28 or NATO reporting name SS-X-29/30?

It appeared to have some sort of guidance-system malfunction based on its erratic flight before it started tumbling.

Wouldn't be the first time Russia had to reverse engineer a whole Soviet-era Ukrainian industrial sector. Won't be the last, either.

Some sources are saying it might be a UR-100N though.
That's what I heard as well. What chatter disagrees on so far is if the payload was an HGV for a test or if this missile was part of the Rokot (modified UR-100N) space launch effort and thus had a satellite as payload. Haven't seen it being linked to Sarmat though.

At t=15s, is that the second stage firing off to the right?

"What exactly fell?
According to the video, an explosion occurred on board the missile during the flight, causing it to lose control and crash to the ground. After that, the rest of the unused rocket fuel exploded.
The massive orange cloud that formed as a result indicates that it was a liquid-fuel rocket that uses nitrogen-containing compounds as fuel."

Obviously, the russians have quite lost the expertise needed to develop new missiles. They could try to ask for help to the north-koreans, which seem to have more success with the launches in latest time.

news sites are all saying 35,000kms that is quite a huge jump in range from the Satan 1 considering google specs saying they are roughly the same size.

So around ~8-10 MIRV for FOBS (safe side from sources that say it can carry 16 total).

So china beats US conventionally (industrial capacity) while Russia undermines US nuclear deterrent with this + poseidon. Yeah it's not looking good

Russia Plans To Deploy Sarmat ICBM Operationally Later This Year

Doubt he was referring to highly expensive nuclear ICBMs.

I'm not surprised by an article like this: This (the nuclear threat) is basically the only thing left in the Russian playbook since the last 4 years have shown that the Emperor has no clothes. We saw it in the 1930's and we see it now: When you can't compete with conventional means, you start to place your hopes on wonder weapons. Didn't work then, and won't work now either.

Given how much Russia has been squandering in its' Ukrainian invasion and its' increasingly dire economic situation I highly doubt that Russia will be able to build and deploy many SS-30 Satan II ICBMs in the near future.
If it follows the trends of other branches the "dire situation" will lead to more missiles deployed than pre-2022. Not that it's really needed, given that Russia fields the most extensive and varied arsenal of ballistic missiles.

I highly doubt that as recently in the last few months Ukraine has been systematically attacking, damaging and/or destroying various Russian factories in Russia's military-industrial complex that are within range of its drones and missiles.
