Not good news that the Hawk went down over Cornwall. But it is good news that both the crew managed to eject and are okay.

What’s the Hawk been like in recent years in U.K. service for incidents like this?

I don't think the accident rate has not been too bad at all, but then there aren't that many RAF T.1s left anyway.
The last serious T.1 incident was the Red Arrows crash at Valley in March 2018 due to stalling at low altitude on a go-around.
Most other recent incidents have been bird strikes.
