Something I came across - a single F-82B was converted into a photo-recon RF-82B in the late '40s:

This aircaft had its first flight, in this configuration, on 15 November 1948. No other aircraft were converted.

I FINALLY picked up a Modelcraft 1/48 F-82B Twin Mustang, so I shall be using your scans as reference, to convert my kit. ;D

I find it ironic that the AAF selected the Twin Mustang over the XP-61E for the long-range escort, yet went on the use the E-derived F-15 Reporter in the photo recon role.

Do you have the photobucket link to this? Thanks! -SP

I just got this image of the RF-82B from the History Office at the Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB, California. -SP
