Houthi rebels have killed and captured several crew members after they attacked and sank a second cargo ship in the Red Sea.

The Eternity C was struck by drone boats and cruise and ballistic missiles over three days before going down on Wednesday, the Houthis said.

Four sailors were killed, while six were pulled alive from the water and taken hostage, but 15 remain unaccounted for. The European Union’s military operation in the Red Sea reported that one of the crew members lost their leg in the attack.

“After killing their shipmates, sinking their ship and hampering rescue efforts, the Houthi terrorists have kidnapped many surviving crew members of the Eternity C,” the US embassy in Yemen said in a statement.

The Iran-backed rebels said the ship was targeted because it was heading to an Israeli port. Video released by the group shows explosions on board and a call for the crew to evacuate before the vessel sank.

This is the second ship the Houthis have sunk in a week, ramping up their campaign to block maritime traffic to and from Israel.

The next thing to do is to send a "Ah, we know what to do" (to lighten the mood, there's no need to get angry, it's not worth arguing under something that's already happened)

Who is we and what hasn't been done aside from putting troops on the ground?
G'day,

'WE', are whoever have an interest in free navigation and the maintenance of such.

'WE' have governments tasked with ensuring that free navigation remains the status quo. Not even slightly peeved let alone angry.

The Houthi's have a predeliction to attacking folk, whether at the behst of the IRG or whoever else it is, is irrelevant but, hey "When you sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind". They do not WANT to stop so perhaps the mantra elsewhere should be, "You want it, you get it".

No, not expecting the USA to do everything at all and, still not angry.

Perhaps target what remains of the military infrastructure, more holes in the ground. Troops on said ground? That would be crazier than a box of frogs on a Christmas tree in the summer.

Those guys will stop being a problem when they run out of rockets and that will only happen when the rocket factory is destroyed, it's just a matter of political will from the West.
Does anyone need to be shown a tactical manual?

So you want a full out regional war with iran, that has so far been avoided?

Half hearted, telegraphed, air strikes against facilities from which the Uranium had already been moved isn't really a full on regional war.
The questionable choice to warn them in advance aside, I don't think GBU-57s dropped from strategic bombers really represents a "half-hearted" strike mission. Of course, I've no idea what was in the facility or where the uranium might have been moved to but that's secondary to the topic.
More importantly the IAF had been striking targets on the surface freely because they had demolished the Iranian air defense network.

When the Iranians can't do anything about the threat in the skies above them what are they going to do about more airstrikes in Yemen? All they can really do is continue what they've already been doing.

It’s not about air strikes in Yemen.

The statement was destroy the rocket factories. Those are in Iran.
Iran still has plenty offensive capabilities, particularly asymmetric capabilities that can target the US homeland

So it may come down who has the deeper magazine.
Which is likely a larger plan among our enemies to put us (the west as a whole) into a weaker position, particularly when it comes to China.

The more missiles we launch now, the less we’ll have to fight russia or more likely China.

Iran?.... who said Iran?

In 1940 the British understood that the only way to prevent the bad guys from bombing London was to destroy the factories that produced those planes, unfortunately for the civilians of the enemy country the technology of the Bomber Command was not very accurate and there were many deaths of non-combatants, but it was necessary to put an end to the factories... and they finished them off.

in mean time
A german Luftwaffe surveillance Plane over Red Sea was track by Laser from Chinese warship...

The MSP is operated by a civilian commercial service provider and German armed forces personnel are involved, said the ministry, adding the data collected significantly contributes to awareness for partners.

So we flew an aircraft without military markings close to a PLAN warship? Lmao, the morons who planned this can be thankful they didn't shoot our guys down.

Don't we have P-3s for maritime surveillance and patrol?

You do realize that you're advocating for the modern US to replicate British war crimes during WW2 in modern day Iran, right? (majority of the missiles are produced in Iran)

I don't know if that's a statement one should be comfortable to make publicly, tbh.

If you expect an apology or a rectification, you are very wrong.

Don't you dare put in my post concepts that I haven't used.

With current technology it is possible to destroy a factory with a minimum of civilian casualties and war crimes in this case consist of attacking civilian ships without considering human losses.

Do not forget that the West has had the ability to annihilate any country for many years and has not done so, while terrorists have no limits in their attacks.

So, if the weapon factories are not in Yemen, where are they?

So where do we bomb?
That is the question for the Mossad, which is from the offended country, we in Europe have other types of threats but we have not yet reached the extreme of bombing, I hope never.

You do realize the British strategic bombing of Germany did absolutely nothing to destroy those factories? You do know that the only way to take those factories offline was to physically invade Germany with boots on the ground?

And you yourself have already admitted those factories are in Iran. So yes, if you want those factories offline you need to conduct a ground invasion of Iran...

Where do you think the weapons factories are?
Here’s a hint, they’re not in Yemen.

I'm not sure that comparing today's weapons technology to efforts made with the technology of 80-something years ago really relates.

Hmm, I wonder something, which might or might not be relevant either directly or in general principle ...
Let's see, the strategic bombing of 1943 is 82 years before 2025;
So, what strategic bombing technology was 82 years before 1943?
That would be the strategic bombing technology of 1861.

Folks, we're getting from the local events to global causes and comparisons....
I think, it's better to stay with the events directly there, and discuss the polics behind separately, via PM, or maybe in another forum .
