"Projekt RAK" by Klaus Filthaut is not a new book (published in 1999), but nevertheless a highly recommended one for all readers interested in the beginning of rocket-propelled vehicles. It starts with the Opel and Valier rocket cars (and this is the main topic of the book), but there is enough material for the aviation enthusiasts:
