Thanks for digging up the report! The vehiclein question is called "Shuttle II" in one edition of the Dennis Jenkins book, although that term is typically used with Advanced Manned Launch System.

Did anybody working on this study think the astronauts would be okay with a crew module located amidships and landings handled autonomously?
