P-63 with V tail and a swept wing

I'd seen another photo of the V-tail before but not the swept wing. Nice!

I knew of the swept wing L-39 but I've never ever seen it with a butterfly tailed empennage. Great find! -SP

Swept-wing variant was the L-39 (two variants), V-tail variant was modified from an RP-63G.

Hello,
interesting by buildind a 1/48 scale model of the L-39, I find some web page :

A brief article on the L-39.

My spontaneous answer is that it was a dark red, but I don't know whether I actually saw this or imagined it from the various pics. I'll have to look through my files to be sure.

I would really like to see a colour photo or some proof for my 1/7 scale r/c Bell L-39-2 with the X2 wing, which is almost ready for paint. I want to post a photo of it but I don't know how to make it small enough. (I am betting it was Gloss sea Blue FS15042)I am also hoping that this 4th attempt to post will be successful!

I'm attaching a reduced-size version of Ted's photo, showing his 1:7 scale R/C model of the Bell L-39-2 with the wing proposed for the Bell X-2 rocket plane. Ted hopes that this photo "might stir up some interest and perhaps jog a memory somewhere, regarding its colour."
