Wasn't sure if these should be entered separately but decided to lump them into one thread as they are all related. Some of these will be a lot of data, others only a few pictures. Comments welcomed.
The first will be Fairchild, followed by Robertson, Northrop 180, VCW, and then the Vertol 90.

This is great information. Did you by chance run across the Vought submission?

I actually wasn't looking for these. But I tend to copy everything in the box that I request, lookiing for something else. Sometimes programs are clustered together, other times spread between boxes.

these are great! Not to seem ungrateful, Masher, but maybe with documents this long, you could consider posting some of the pictures, but also collating all the pictures into a pdf. That's pretty much what i'm going to do in order to read the full document more conveniently. Thanks again!

Which company does VCW mean?
Are we sure it's a company name? Could be short for Variable Camber Wing, which fits with the full-width trailing edge flaps the design seems to use.

The VCW was a folder in this box without anything other than those two pages. No full name. I'm being humorous here but "Veterans of Curtiss-Wright"? TomS is probably more accurate. AeroFranz, not the most computer saavy guy here, we'll see if I can get better.

As TomS suggested, VCW is for variable camber wing. The submission was by 'Wilford' but I can't find the full company name (if there was one).

It makes sense, E. Burke Wilford collaborated with Burnelli on the variable camber wing for the latter's 1930 GX-3 'safety plane'.

Burke Wilford was also behind Pennsylvania Aircraft Syndicate, Ltd. in the '30s - with his rigid-rotor WRK gyrocopter and other projects.

Back to the project at hand, ... In the Spangenberg Index, two Willard projects are noted for TS-145. The first is this one (box 629), listed there as "Wilford VCW Mk 5 VO Observation". The second submission to TS-145 (box 352), is listed as the 1956 "Wilford VOW - Mk V (VOW-5) VO Observation". This latter project is also associated with
All-American Engineering ("for VOW-5"). So, it is possible that these Willard projects were actually submitted for TS-145 using All-American Engineering.

OT: The Spangenberg Index (box 583) also lists a Willard project unrelated to TS-145. This is given as the 1961 "Wilford (VTOL Marine Assault Transport)" for the VTOL Tri-Service Transport Competition.
