New user registrations suspended temporarily due to spammers

We had a sudden outbreak of spammers sending private messages immediately on registration to users with dubious messages and links. I've deleted the culprits and will have to remove the ability to send private messages until user is manually approved before i can allow new user signups

I think Ive fixed it by stopping unapproved members from sending private messages. They can still recieve them or contact me via contact form.

I've set all users to approval temporarily rather than just suspicious ones. Will observe new signups for any suspicious activity.

Spitting image of my reddit automod setup in the month or so before I got banned from reddit altogether. Every poster was manually approved at their first post if the post contents weren't spam. Spammers would get their accounts banned instead.
