The only Nakajima Hayabusa "Ki-43-KAI" that I know of is the Type 1 single seat fighter model 2 Kai - also known as the Ki-43-II-KAI, and sometimes called the Ki-43-IIc. This was a model 2 (Ki-43-II) that was given individual exhaust stacks instead of the single collector exhaust on each side of the cowling. This scheme was carried over to the Ki-43 model 3 (Ki-43-IIIa) but with some slight changes.

Here is an example of a Ki-43-II-KAI: Ki-43-II-KAI 64th Sentai, 2nd Chutai, chutai CO Capt Hideo Miyabe, Burma, late 1944

Here is an example of a Ki-43-IIIa (all built by Tachikawa as Nakajima was now building the Ki-84), note the difference in the exhaust pattern:
Ki-43-IIIa 64th Sentai, 1st Chutai, sentai CO Maj Hideo Miabe, Krakor AF, Indochina, May 1945
