Dear Boys and Girls, here is an article in French announcing the development of the Morane-Saulnier MS.880 business jet powered by four Turboméca Gabizo engines; it remained a "project"......

The article comes from the 28th September 1957 issues of Les Ailes......

Don't forget the two Palouste engines in the tail, that were used to supply bleed air for the blown
flaps. So, the MS.880 would have had 6 engines for transporting 8 passengers .... ;)

Very expensive passengers indeed!!! Were they out of their minds when they devised this? ???

Aim was to get good STOL capabilities, coupled with good cruising speed. Those eight passengers
quite probably wouldn't have been package tourists ! To get wealthy travellers with jet speed into
airfields, that otherwise were restricted to much slower props could have been the idea, I think.
BTW, some sources described the MS.785 as a 4-engined design with podded engines, perhaps
with swept wings. But this description would come nearer the MS.880. Maybe an earlier design ? ???
