BMW proposed a "Schnell Bomber" (fast bomber) during WW2
it use a similar wings swept back and forth,
with 2 two BMW 018 jet engines AND two BMW 028 turboprop engines for cruising.

Beechcraft swung the Starship's canard to adjust trim about the pitch axis. It mainly needed canard lift farther forward when they lowered the flaps on the main wing, for landing.
