Never asked what was the gorgeous plane figuring on this forum ?

I asked Overscan the other day, he tell me that it was the MDD type 265, competitor to the vast AFTI program (which in the end include the modified F-16 we know).

I just love the look of this aircraft...couldn't resist turning it into a model !

(I forget the vertical surface below the cockpit area ;) I've just noticed it ::) )

Wonderful model, congratulations. ;D
Are you sure the front surface is vertical? I thought it was a canard with a strong anhedral (say like a clock 4 hour 37), no?

Thanks guys! Tophe, I thought, too that it was a canard... I added it yesterday evening, but it fell  . I have to glue it again, and paint it. What markings and armement would be cool ? a pair of AIM-9 under the nacelles ? ;D

Some info on the Model 265-1

L. 45.4 ft, S. 30.7 ft., H. 12.6 ft.

2 x GE J101 turbojets.

The wing panels outboard of the engines were variable incidence in place of ailerons etc.

Studied with MBB post-AFTI loss for early TKF-90 studies.

Single ventral nose 'fin'.

Is there more info about this plane available here ?

MDD type 265 a STOL/VTOL ?
