Hi folks,

Can anyone recommend a good book covering the entire P-36 through P-40 & related developments series (e.g. P-36 Hawk, Model 75, Mohawk, P-37, P-40 Warhawk, Tomahawk, and Kittyhawk, & P-42?

Regards,

Greg

XP-42

Greg, do a search on the NASA documents server for XP-42. I am sure you'll like what you'll find (over a dozen reports, nearly 40 mb).

As for recommendations... I would recommend the AJ-Press books as a general overview of the series, if it wasn't for the fact that they were written in Czech.

Hmmm..may be a long term writing /research project here. ::)

Regards,

Greg

This one includes all of Curtiss' Hawks, going back to the 1920s, but it does include the P-36 and P-40:

And if you are interested in the operational history and/or markings, Osprey has a number of books covering both the P-36 and the P-40.

Got it - it's good, but not to the level of detail I am thinking of.

Regards,

Greg
