Excellent my dear Arjen,

and about the "Lioré et Olivier" by Gérard Hartmann, E-T-A-I, 2002,
was it a book or just article in a magazine ?.

It's a 192-page book. Some of the pictures are tiny, but the printers did a great job: scan the pictures and enlarge them to get the fine detail.

In the journal "Les Ailes Francaises - Les Hydravions à coque - Part 2" Edition ARTIPRESSE write about the Latécoère 611 Achernar. Derived from the technical program MP/C. T.P. of 01 May 1935 concerning "l'Hydravion de croisière" (hydro cruise). It refers to eight projects were presented and four selected: Breguet 730, CAMS 141, Lioré & Olivier H-440 and Latécoère 610 then evolved in 611.
The eight projects were presented.

toura's scan reading something like this:

A May 10 1935 specification for a 20 tonne seaplane with thirty hour endurance carrying a crew of 10-to-12. This specification was modified in Dec 1935 to allow for a higher weight. Maximum speed was to be at least 300 km/h. This program gave rise to the CAMS 141, Latecoere 610/611, Breguet 70 with a gull-wing more like Br.720 then Br.730, and LeO H-440.

The Navy had been definitively acquired has l' use of the seaplanes for l' exploration of the open sea, to replace the light ships and rapids which jusqu' then had been loads d' to light the squadrons known the position of their adversaries.

The high weight of the project was dictated by the need to remain airborne for extended periods at cruising speed while carrying complete observation and transmission equipment. Armament envisaged consisted of a 20 mm cannon with 180 degree traverse, four machine-guns, and 800-to-1000 kg of bombs.

Wing fuel tanks were to carry 15000 liters of high-octane fuel. The little known LeO H-44 as a preliminary draft was presented as a large monoplane powered by either four Hispano-Suiza 14Ha of 1000 ch or of four slightly lower-powered Gnome-Rhône 14Kfrs-1 (the GR.18L of 1220 ch still being a project at that stage).

Thank you my dears Toura and Apophenia,

but the member Aviostoria spoke about eight designs, and in the article, they

spoke about seven designs only, there is one proposal missing.

In the Trait d'Union magazine Nr238 March/April 2008 is this information (I translate):
"On May 10th 1935 is published a spec. for a cruise flying boat of 20 tons with a range of 30 hours. The crew would be 10 to 12 men. In December the take off weight is increased and the maximum speed should not be below 300km/h. Weapons should include one 20mm gun, with 180° vertical ability, 4 machine guns, and a bomb weight between 800kg and 1,000kg. The Lioré et Olivier company designed a preliminary project coded H-44 or H-440. It was a big monoplane all-metal flying boat with four 1,000hp Hispano-Suiza 14Ha engines, or slightly less powerfull Gnôme-Rhône 14 Kfrs-1, or projected 1,220hp Gnôme-Rhône 18L. These engines are located on the leading edge of the wing. Fuel tanks of 15,000 liters are also included in the wing. In flight variable pitch propellers are provided. The high wing, of more than 40 meters span, has a gull shape. A variant for 20 passengers on the North Atlantic is even imagined, but works on it stop at the wind tunnel model step."
No picture of it there.
