Hi,

the Initech Aircraft Corporation designed the JTC STOL transport
aircraft.

I wanted to ask a couple of questions:

(1) Does Initech Aircraft Corporation still exist?
(2) What does the acronym JTC stand for, even though I know that STOL stands for "Short Takeoff and Landing"?

(1) Does Initech Aircraft Corporation still exist?

Doubtful. Initech was just one of many companies formed by Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University staff and students to compete in a series of 2008-2009 AIAA design competitions.

For the Austere Field STOL Tactical Transport design competition, six Virginia Tech teams were entered:
- Team Arrowspace Hermes;
- Initech JTC-2E Swingliner;
- Zoltan YC-154 Skymaster II;
- The Heavy Lifters Free Weight;
- The Mason Project S.T.O.R.K.; and
- The A-Team Aeronautics Mr. T.
See: http://www.dept.aoe.vt.edu/~mason/Mason_f/SD1SrDesRpts.html

In the pdfs, Initech never seemed to define 'JTC'. My guess would be 'Joint Tactical Cargo (Transport)'.
