Israel went to Gaza with three objectives : smash Hamas, avenge October 7, recover the hostages. I'm mostly ok with that, after all French Rafales bombed the shit out of E.I after terrorism killed a total of 273 french citizens over a decade (2012 to 2021).

What really pisses me: Netanyahou and his cliques of fanatical SOBs (burn in hell forever with Meir Kahane, Smotrich and Ben'gvir rotten piece of shit).
Together the miserable SOBs have shifted the Gaza war initial objective, see above, to two new ones

1-keep the war going, keep the government going : so that PM Netanyahou, deeply corrupt, won't go to jail;

2-let's solve the Palestinian "problem" once and for all. Either kill them (65 000 so far) or just move them away from the strip, with Trump blessing ("How about dumping them on Lybia ? weak, corrupt failed state - give them enough billion dollars, they will take those pesky palestinians")

Don't you think Netanyahou feels emboldened, reading that ? He must be wetting his pants in joy ! He has POTUS blessing to deport palestinians away.

Also : 1- is not only immoral because palestinians, but for israeli citizens too. It's a freakkin' betrayal. I mean, IDF soldiers keep dying or getting PTSD en masse, just to keep Bibi away from justice and a prison cell. Just think about it.

Ah politics, I prefer to give my opinion on those distant days when the Mirages, Mystéres and Vautours achieved surprising victories over huge enemy forces, Paris Match published exciting reports on the war and Salvatore Adamo thrilled everyone with his song Inch Allah.

Wonder if the timing of the attack had something to do with Ukraine's attacks on Russian bomber's - the powers of the world have realized they have a major weakness, and they started working on plugging it, so the window of opportunity started closing.

The assets employed in Iran, particularly ground-based ones, could not have been prepared after Ukraine's attack on Russia's bombers. These things likely took years of preparations.
Israel stated the reason is Iran's decision to rush to a nuclear bomb.

Israel did similar sabotage things many times, and this time it didn't use drones either.
Very traditional covert action (though this time not very covert), they do it for a decade.

Iran has said Israel’s attacks on its military and nuclear sites are a “declaration of war”.

The Iranian military fired 100 drones at Israel this morning as the opening salvo of its expected retaliation, which it pledged would be “harsh and decisive”.

Israel overnight claimed to have hit 100 targets using 200 warplanes, striking one of Iran’s nuclear facilities, wiping out dozens of its air defence systems and assassinating its military top brass.

In a letter to the United Nations, Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, described the large-scale strikes as a “declaration of war” and “called on the Security Council to immediately address this issue”.

Russia, one Iran’s most key allies, said the timing of the “unacceptable” strikes was “particularly cynical” as it came two days ahead of the next round of nuclear talks with the US.

Iran has announced it will no longer take part in the deal negotiations on Sunday.

Ali Khamenei, the country’s Supreme Leader, said Israel had “sealed for itself a bitter and painful destiny”.

Israel has declared a state of emergency across the entire country and told its citizens to remain near bomb shelters. Gen Eyal Zamir, its military chief, warned that Iran’s response would be worse than “what we are used to”.

Britain has no plans to defend Israel from an Iranian counter-attack, defence forces said. Donald Trump, however, who had prior knowledge of the strikes, has promised to defend Washington’s ally.

The Mossad spy agency reveals rare footage showing its actions against Iranian air defenses and ballistic missile launchers in Iran this morning, including a video appearing to show two covert agents launching missiles from inside the country.
According to an Israeli official, the Mossad built a secret explosive drone base inside Iran for this morning’s operation.
The drones were used to strike ballistic missile launchers at a base near Tehran, preventing Iran from firing projectiles at Israel as this morning’s strikes began.
Additionally, vehicles carrying weapons systems were smuggled into Iran. These systems took out Iran’s air defenses and gave Israeli planes air supremacy and freedom of action over Iran.
A third covert effort involved Mossad commandos deploying precision missiles near anti-aircraft sites in central Iran.

The operation is estimated to last 2 weeks, although it was not clarified how much of that is the strike campaign and they could include days of de-escalating mutual attacks.

And because nukes generally allow rogue tyrannical regimes to solidify their rule.

They don't really care about civilian casualties when they pursue their goals, the matter is simply that Iran isn't as densely populated as Gaza for example and stuff like military installations or AD positions usually don't have civilian buildings around, unless you're Ukraine and park SAM batteries in parking lots of shopping malls. But that's a very different matter.

I suspect timing was determined by the IAEA finding Iran in breach of its non-proliferation obligations yesterday, giving Israel a justification it can wave around for the strike.

The operation was ready last year. Telegram leak seemingly forced them to postpone it.

Indeed, that has probably been in the works for a long time. When such an operation is carried out depends mostly on smaller factors, as in when certain people are at certain locations etc.

Or so I'd argue. Exceptions are generally preemptive measures in the face of an opposing force built up.
 
Have tired to clean it up. It has nothing to do with Secret Projects subject with usual suspects bringing shit on the blades. You free to go to any other forum to discuss it.
