What we see is interceptors rushing to be in the basket* before pulling up for the interception at lower angle rate. That´s very clever.

I would assume the proximity fuze isn't fast enough for such a target but it seems it's quite fast indeed.
 
Rafael in talks to set up Iron Dome interceptor production line in India

"Rafael Advanced Defense Systems is in talks with Indian defense companies to set up a production line in the country for Iron Dome interceptors, according to recent reports in India.

Rafael currently produces the system’s interceptors at one of its plants in northern Israel, and last year a missile production line also began operating in the US in partnership with Raytheon. The American plant will supply interceptors for the Marines’ new air defense system and, if necessary, can reinforce production in Israel.

Production in India is expected to serve Rafael in sales to additional countries, lower costs, provide extra backup when needed to the other production lines, and also strengthen the company’s standing vis-a-vis the Indian establishment, which requires foreign defense companies not only to manufacture in India as a condition for selling their products to the local military, but also to export from there and thereby strengthen its economy."

My comment:

There might be some domestic offtake, though I don't believe Iron Dome/David's Sling are particularly suitable for the kind of Air/Missile Defence that India needs, due to mainly geographical reasons. However it could be a good asset to protect certain point targets (field HQs, ammo dumps etc.)

More importantly, it appears an Indian production line is mainly aimed at increasing stocks/supply for Israel's own defence. More production lines = more interceptors being produced simultaneously, and also a line in India could help reduce the per unit cost of each round going ahead.

All things considered, the 'offshoring' of additional production also serves a strategic purpose. Even a surprisingly successful attack on Israel's own production facilities will not be able to wipe out interceptor production as rounds can keep coming in from the US, and now India.

Broadly, it's a win-win for both countries.
