Impact of an efficient STOL Airliner

IIUC you can get a plane from LA Burbank to Vegas and the flight takes 45 minutes but the whole journey takes about 3 hours. That's the time a train needs to match, and there's not many cities of 100,000 between the edge of LA and Vegas so even a 125 mph train could make good time. Bump the speed up to the 150mph threshold and have a tilt train then the time drops even further.

Pretty much just the Victor Valley metro; there's a major station planned in Apple Valley, with a limited-time station in Hesperia a few miles south. After that, the likes of Barstow and Baker aren't going to merit stations.

The line'll probably be on the slow side from the Rancho Cucamonga terminus to the Victor Valley station, before kicking into gear the rest of the way to Las Vegas.

Apparently the Brightline has no stops from the edge of LA to Vegas, the lack of stops will make for a quick journey.
