I think it would be neat if we could subscribe or track individual threads, especially given all the different threads we need to keep track.

overscan would know more about this, but what you suggest might require a rewrite of the software (maybe an extensive rewrite?)
I'm fairly new here, so I only speculate.

You can click on "notify" to be notified of posts to topics you are particularly interested in.

I occurs to me that clicking on 'Show unread posts since last visit.' will give you very recent posts on any forum. I came to this thread just now by clicking 'Show new replies to your posts.' as well.
