Dear friends,

I'm looking currently for more information of a Hungerian modifcation of the Tu-2. Apparently one plane was modified to carry a high caliber gun, as shown in the attached picture. The specific caliber of the gun is not given in the picture's description.

The picture is from the German book" Typenkompass Tupolew seit 1922" , by Rudolf Höfling, EAN: 9783613034594

Thanks !

I think the gun's muzzle is the tube protruding from the nose. <edit>I stand corrected.</edit>
Caption says: "großkalibrigen Bugkanone"
High-calibre nose cannon.

This is not cannon actually, but starboard engine carburetor inlet - just like on this photo. H/t Miroslav Gyűrösi and Hungarian MoD historian for sharp eyes.

That is an intake for the engine.

Yep. Flateric was kind enough to point that out in #4.

Could 'Túvok' 'Túzok' be the nickname for all Hungarian Tu-2s?

No problem. I can't find anything about this particular modification. The carburettor intake fooled me.

Yes, Túzok.
That means Great Bustards.
