Heinkel He 52.

For many years the Heinkel He 52 has been a mystery airplane for me ; never saw its photo.
In the of DDR yet " Das Große Flugzeugtypenbuch " page 110 I read :
" ... ( He 51 ) In der Folgezeit entstanden einige Versuchsausführungen, z. B. eine zweisitzige Zelle
mit größerer Flügelfläche, die als Höhenjäger dienen sollte und als He 52 bezeichnet wurde. ".

Could somebody show me this machine before I die ?

Here the He 52 .
It's not "zweisitzig " but " zweistielig "
Sp :13,82 m
Le : 9,10 m
34,2 m2 wing area .
Two built .
With floats too ,but I have never seen any pic of it .

Now you can die quietly . ;D

First, I can't find the word stielig in my Polish - German net dictionary ;
can You describe this configuration in English, please ? Before I die ...

Second, are You really sure that the plane wasn't two-seater ?
It can't be seen so visibly on the photo ...

from looking at the picture, and using my extremely limited knowledge of german aeronautical terms on the quoted text, i get:-

Versuchsausführungen.... prototype version

Zweisitzige Zelle.... Two Bay, refers to the wing bracing, with two pairs of interplane struts on each side.

größerer Flügelfläche.... larger Wing wing Area.

Höhenjäger... High Altitude fighter.

So we have, He52, a two bay prototype version with increased wing area, intended as a high altitude fighter.
maybe one of our german speakers can confirm or correct this.

с двухстоечной бипланной коробкой крыльев большого размаха. Верхнее крыло было удлинено
до 13,8 м, а нижнее до 13,4 м. Со стандартным фюзеляжем от Heinkel He 51 B самолет получил
обозначение В-3. По результатам его испытаний были созданы еще два самолета :
Heinkel Hе 52 B ( D-IBAA ) и Heinkel Hе 52 D ( D-IDOG ) с двухпоплавковым шасси,
разбитый в самом начале испытаний. Высотный истребитель планировался к производству
под обозначением Heinkel Hе 52 E, но Технический департамент в конце концов от него отказался. ".

Now we know that the single-seat airplane on the photo is Heinkel He 52 B
with its registration number D-IBAA.
The Heinkel He 52 D ( D-IDOG ) had two floats, but was destroyed in the beginning of the tests.
There was a project of high altitude fighter designated Heinkel He 52 E,
but the Luftwaffe Technical Department abandoned it.

You have to be a polyglot to be interested in the aircraft history

I bought this piece from a old metal artist in the mid 1980.
