H.P. 128 from putnam's Handley Page, pp. 562-563

H.P. 128 short range airliner :-

cruising speed M1.15 with no sonic boom.
stage length 500nm.
pax capacity - 125 @ 30" pitch.
maximum auw 117,700 lb, payload 25,000 lb
span 67.5 ft
area 1,300 sq ft.
sweepback 45 degrees.
aspect ratio 3.5
t/c ratio 6%
section NACA 65 or RAF100 series.
engines - 3 turbojets each of 15,000 lb s.t. [1.45 X enlarged RR speys]
structure - aluminium.
high lift devices - leading edge flaps with suction when deflected, blown trailing edge flaps.

the aircraft was expected to achieve a 20% saving in block time, for a 15% increase in direct operating cost over convention airliners over the design 500 mile stage length.
studies continued until 1964.

Please notice the seating arrangement and the arrangement of the "3 rear-mounted engines (of unspecified type) aspirated via two bifurcated intakes"(1).
