I came across this photograph of the Guerchais 110 avion stratosphérique in the Revue Aéronautique de France of March 1932. I have been able to trace little about this aeroplane, but it seems that it may not have been completed and did not fly. Neither have I been able to trace any information about its fate. Does anyone know anything more about it?

Hi Avion,

it was called T-110,and it was low-wing stratosphere experimental aircraft, powered
by one 870 hp Lorraine Orion engine.

Thank you, Toura, for posting a copy of the article from Fana. It seems to bear out my suspicion that the Guerchais 110 was not completed and did not fly. Sadly it sheds no light on what happened to the partially completed airframe. Chopped and burnt, I suspect!

The Guerchais company designed began with 1-01 sailplane and followed
from T-1 to T-10,that's a small Info about Guerchais.

And for T-110,a translating for anther Info about it;

two types of apparatus have been envisaged: first of 2500 kg total aircraft
altitude record, taking only 3 hours of fuel, and the other with a total weight
of 5000 kg, 2500 kg removed payload, which may correspond to 3000 liters
of fuel.

Several pics:
  • Guerchais holding a model of his "avion stratosphérique".
  • Diagrams from an old article of La Nature which described the Guerchais, Farman and Junkers stratospheric projects.

Hi,

may be that was the early drawing to Guerchais T-110 aircraft, not the different
from my dear Toura's drawing.

I just came across this article in a copy (Dec. 1932) of Model Airplane News. Hope it adds more fuel to the fire.... ;D

Okay, for some reason the first page didn't make the cut, so here it is.
