Is anyone planning on going to this? Please report back with weapons information. Me personally am excited to see what appears to be the "Rods from God" concept wipe out half of Paris.

I thought that the city destroyed in G.I. Joe: Retaliation was London, not Paris. I am still undecided about seeing this "dumb fun" in a cinema or waiting for it to come out on Blu-Ray within three months.

You are correct it is London it was my hope it was Paris, JUST KIDDING any French citizens at SP ;D

I ususally only go if there are 'future weapons' so to speak to be seen on the preview although I still could not bring myself to see 'Battleship' cause it just looked bad IMHO.

The movie has the Howe & Howe Tech "Ripsaw":

I think it got about 2 weeks from relase last June when all of a sudden it was withdrawn. Officially the decision was made to convert it to 3D, but reportedly test audiences *hated* it. So they spent another half year and another movies worth of budget re-shooting a good fraction of the movie. Apparently "Duke" originally died at the beginning and the decisionw as made to not only not kill him, but to make him a main character or the rest of the flick.

Feel free to make your own comparison to the F-35 program...

ehhh, they make a second part of that GI Joe movie from 2008 ?!

i had really enjoyed if had taken the Venture Bros. approach on that movie.

Saw it. Meh. It's less silly than the first one; the weapons are, on the whole, more down to earth than the lasers and nanites and such from the first. There is an over-engined VTOL transport and an ugly helicopter with some oddly placed jet engines, and a number of tanks. Good ol' fashioned firearms for the most part.

As for the Rods From God: Wrong, wrong, wrong. Just about everything about their description and effects is just... wrong. Such things do *not* have the impact of nuclear weapons. Great for taking out tanks or even ships, but won't do diddly to cities.

Best thing about the movie: Jonathan Pryce must've had a ball playing the bad guy.

I was misinformed about "Duke's" revised role.

I'm more interested in this kid's movie. ;D

One of the few decent scenes of the movie involves Project Zeus a kinetic projectile satellite similar to Project Thor.
