Originally I was going to post this in the FSCS thread ( https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/threads/lancer-sika-pics-info.11823/ ) but this eventually became bigger than I originally intended ( 2 major files containing around 80 pages with 5 presentations in both, and two other presenations, all about FSCS directly). This has a-lot of previously unseen presentations on FSCS. But more importantly this thread contains presentations that are our first look into the Army After Next ground combat vehicle program otherwise known ( I think ) as Future Combat Vehicles or Multi-Mission Combat Vehicles. This I think justifies this being a new thread and why I didn't just post it there. Sadly one of these files is in exceedingly poor condition, where you can barely make out the images on the slides.

FSCS was once considered to be used as a common chassis alongside another 17-20 wheeled chassis as part of what is essentially the predecessor program to FCS, like how Armored Family of Vehicles is to ASM ( an initial study of concepts). The wheeled chassis would be fielded in larger numbers to the FSCS and FSCS based vehicles due to being cheaper. These presentations discuss three variants of FSCS/ Tracer. A Unmanned "Robotic Follower" with 28 NLOS missiles, an IFV called the Dragoon, and the U.K Tracer Overwatch missile carrier vehicle with which the Robotic Follower is based off.

The most interesting of these archived presentations is Fenner A. Milton's presentation/ paper at the 1998 21st Army science conference titled: "Army After Next Proposal For Ground Combat Vehicles". I don't think this is the full presentation and we don't have the transcripts and paper itself, but it's still rather interesting.

AAN ground combat vehicles can be seen on the slide below as a study/program lasting from 1997-99 in the top right corner.

Cool screenshots:

Fantastic post @scrubhead I'm like a moth to a flame with these Army After Next posts :D

This middle collage is interesting too, it shows the Ford and Dodge competitors for the CUCV III program. Though I'm not sure what the Excursion is with the funky nose arraignment? View attachment 725525

It's not an Excursion, it's an F350 with a bed cap (but I repeat myself)

Looks like it was an in-house Army project to build an escort or VIP transport vehicle.

New things I found related to AAN or FSCS, Just screenshots though, barely any info I could find on any of them beyond these.

1. FSCS-based Future Combat Systems (might better fit in FCS thread). From https://www.geocities.ws/fscswheelsvstracks/sld021.htm : img021.gif

2. Wheeled AAN combat vehicle concept, 1999. From: Influence of combat vehicle system constraints on EML technology development. IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 35(1), 473–478 :

3. Future Infantry Vehicle, FIV, 1997. Another failed Bradley replacement. The U.S has now failed 5 times to replace the Bradley. ASM, FIV, FCS, GCV, OMFV pre-restart. Let's hope that OMFV (or more recently, MMFV) in its current form will succeed, sixth times the charm.

From: https://emuweb.usahec.org/alma/multimedia/1049058/20181815MNBT989112110F116798I002.pdf, [PRESENTATION] COMBAT DEVELOPMENTS UNITED STATES ARMY INFANTRY CENTER .

Excerpt's from W. Blair Haworth's great book, The Bradley and How it Got that Way, Page 154, Department of Defense Authorization for Appropriations for Fiscal Year 1999 and the Future Years Defense Program: Military posture, Page 340 and AY 97 Compendium Army After Next Project, Pages 11-13, respectively:

NOTE: Haworth's book mentions 2012 as the introduction date for FIV, whereas DOD AfA FY 1999 instead states 2016 for fielding and 2020 for IOC. Also worth noting that FIV apparently went unfunded in 1999 according to Inside the Pentagon, https://www.jstor.org/stable/43984650. Pretty obvious as to the reason why.
