after the WWII France collect also German scientist and technology
including 75% parts for 30 V-2 !

Project 4212.

in 1946-1948 France start to Development of French version of A9
with "recruited" group of 123 German engineers from that project.
in LRBA (Laboratoire de Recherche Balistiques et Aérodynamique) founded at Mai 1946 in Vernon, France.
group of over thirty German engineers are selected for Project 4212.

First Phase: production and test facilities for French production of the V-2 would be created in France.
Second Phase: development and production of the A9.

in 1947 the project had major problem, the French had no guidance and control system of the V2 !
(that were the missing 25% parts on the 30 V-2)
Redevelopment of the guidance and control system had delay the Program until 1952
the French Military consider then until 1952 the V-2 is consider to be obsolete technology
so in 1948 came cancellation of the Project 4212
the German engineers how ever made 1/10 Test Model called Project 4213 / Veronique
Veronique is base for Diamant, Cora, Ariane Rocket
( JAAAA French Rocket program also of German origin ! hehehe ;D )

Design of Project 4212.
a A-4 with 40 tonne trust engine
R1 - 1000 kg warhead over a 1500 km range. Propellants nitric acid and kerosene, pressure-fed.
R2 - 1000 kg warhead over a 1400 km range. Propellants liquid oxygen and kerosene, turbopump-fed.
R2S - 1000 kg warhead over an 1800 km range, or 500 kg over a 2250 km range.
Propellants nitric acid and kerosene, turbopump-fed engine.
The R2S would be the basic production of French strategic weapon,
R2M - 1000 kg warhead over a 3600 km range. Propellants nitric acid and kerosene, turbopump-fed.
Two solid propellant booster engines were to assist on takeoff, with wings like A9 design concept.

by the way has some one more info about Super V-2 ?

Michael the R-1 which you cite resembles the A-8 version of the V-2 rocket and it may have been built to captured plans. The Soviets designed a very similar missile called the Groettrup G-1 with captured Nazi engineers.

actually the A-4 let to Soviet/German G-1, it use LOX/alcohol as Propellants

Liftoff mass 22334 kg (49240 lb) engine trust 34337 kg (75700 lb)
Range 482 km (260 n.M.)
