FN America 6.5mm LICC

Hrm. 6.5x43 is 4mm longer than 6.5 Grendel, and I'm assuming that comes with increased velocity.

Means it won't fit into a standard AR lower.
Standard A-15, no. However, lowers combining AR-10 magwells with AR-15 action/packaging are becoming more numerous. The LICC carbine seems to be a similar idea.

Yes, I've been eyeing the POF Rogue, which has an AR10 magwell but AR15 overall length. Saves a couple of pounds compared to an AR10.

Also a bit fatter, with a .473 case head from 7.62 NATO rather than .441 in the Grendel. That apparently in part so they can use the existing lightweight links for 7.62mm.

4mm less than 6.5 Lapua.

Bullet is?

They just put this out.

Family of .264 caliber/6.5x43mm ammunition includes:

103gr Reduced Ricochet Limited Penetration with non-toxic primer
120gr Ballistic Match Multipurpose
109gr Copper Monolithic Open Tip
120gr Copper Monolithic Open Tip
125gr Partition Controlled Expansion (LE)
No info on velocities. Guessing around 3100 fps for the 109gr round, and a bit less for the rest.

Ah, didn't realize it was based off a 7.62 case.

8mm shorter case than 7.62, so it's one of those "holds a really long projectile without intruding into the powder capacity" redesigns (edit) like .338 Norma (short case) versus .338 Lapua (long case).

The same as thought it was based on the .264 USA case which was based on a lengthened Grendel 6.5mm x 38.7/Russian 7.62 x 39 case with its slightly smaller head/rim diameter of .447" and ~ half the case taper of 0.26 degree vs the 5.56 which allows you to fit more rounds in the magazine compared to the new FN 6.5 LICC round with its larger rim dia. .473" of the 7.62 NATO, drawback comes with only 25 round magazines compared with standard 30 rounds with the AK-47.

Grendel magazines for an AR only hold 26, so it's not a great loss.
