Hi guys :D,

in a sister forum I have found this interesting ship, called officially Flugsicherungsboot I:

http://forum-marinearchiv.de/smf/index.php/topic,7354.0.html

My own sources state this was a Siebel design. Apparently there were two armament variants to this desigh ( Flusi I ), as you will notice, as well as another Flusi ( II ) project from 1942. Any drawings on Groener?

You could see a set of pictures of a cardboard model of the same ship here:

Enjoy

I have some copies, but they are of miserable quality, sorry, but
about 30 years ago, this was quite good for a photo copy .
And, worse, I can't tell the source ... :-\
The designation "Flugsicherungsboot" was misleading as it actually was
a "Flakträger" (AA gun carrier). The name "Krischan der Große" can
be read on the bow. The description says, that the designation Flusi 2
(probably) was used after the change of the engines, the photos show
two variants for the armament, the first had a quad 20mm gun, the other
an 8.8 gun behind the bridge.

Hi Jemiba :D,

nice to know you also had interest in naval subjects. Excellent news you have here. This particular boat was intended to be a flak cover for the projected "Seeloewe" operation, the invasion of Great Britain. Thanks for sharing.

"Air traffic control ship". An interesting, and, in a way, very accurate cover designation!
