A question: did Germans ever considered rocket boosters to launch Fi-103?
Wasn't the V1 catapult rocket-powered in the first place ? with some kind of Walter rocket engine ? (from memory: I may be wrong)

Two variants were initially built and tested in Peenemuende, a Rheinmetall-Borsig rocket powered catapult and a Walter steam catapult - the latter was eventually chosen for operational use.Hm. I always thought that Fi-103 launch catapult was some kind of piston-driven system:
