This just in from those well-know aircraft designers EasyJet...

Watch out for a lot more on this subject from Airbus, Boeing and the airlines

Hi all,

the low cost airline EasyJet has projected an airliner for the year 2015. The picture shows the Manager Andrew Harrison with a model of the "ecoJet".

Well first thing I saw on the static display at Dubai Air Show the other weekend was Alaska Airlines B737 MAX 9 ecoDemonstrator (my photos below).

It apparently passed through here London Stansted from DBX.

cheers

I heard about this project some years ago and I'm still baffled about its origin and history. Apart from the obvious question regarding powerplant and materials, the main one that bugged my was whether this was a legitimate project? I've heard rumours that it was intended to push aircraft companies to produce more efficient aircraft. Whether this is true or not is up for debate, but it is plausible. Finally, was the aircraft designed by Easyjet themselves, or was it designed by a third party?
