A recent Mitchell Instit paper discussed the immediate need for more airframes, but that F-15EX & F-35 production rates will even approach the necessary numbers .

The Air Force has yet to buy more than 48 F-35s in a year and is buying a maximum of 24 F-15EXs annually.
