Daydreaming the ultimate AIM-174 interceptor

And it should sit at around 1550-1800Ibs a piece.
We have photos of the DAIM-174B with a clear CG mark and weight of 1890lbs. D as in Dummy, for training ground crews in how to handle the unit. The AIM174B is about 130lbs heavier than the upper stage of the RIM174, due to the strongback needed for horizontal carriage.

Okay and it actualy would make sense as it also got the reinforcements to be carried. Well my mistake on that part but i haven't seen sutch a picture / that detail

The RIM-174 has such length that I wonder if it could become 2 stage for even greater range?
Puts the total weight up to about 3500lbs or more, and makes for a complicated mount onto the aircraft unless you make a 13.5" diameter booster instead of the naval 21" boosters.

Plus, remember that the SM6 has a 500+km range against surface targets and aircraft at low level. That's over 250nmi as is, and the air launched version is likely greater (naval booster does get the missile over mach 1, but separates under 10,000ft; while air launch is well above most of the atmospheric drag and not as fast at launch). There's no good airborne radars with that much range short of the Hawkeye!

Don't know how I missed this...
Don't the wings fold? They fit in Mk-41 launchers after all and those seem to have a practical max diameter of 21"/53cm for missiles.
Yes, they do. The wings fold into a 21" square box.

Better, the wings are spring-loaded to unfold. So you could literally use a plastic packing strap to hold the wings folded until the missile launches and then have that strap cut when the ejectors fire.

Looks like the Chinese also think the b21's side magazines are used for 174 or siaw

That is what I wanted, but not what those doors cover at all. Just looking at how the doors are split those are equipment bays not weapons bays. Sadly.
