I heard they are asking for Aviation and space experts, with many years of experience, and a secondary in keeping arguments going over the minutia of an specification or statement.....

1 year on straw food just for a Simulation?! That's probably too much to ask for many enthusiastic potential candidates.
They should tune the thing down (since in anyway it is a partial Sim).
