You must have read my mind, OBB, because I spent a large part of this evening sorting out the various projects from Convair in the 1950s and 1960s!

Some like the MER or the Princess conversion are already documented, but some are pretty new to me, such as the Hazel, Noodnik, Atlantis or Caribou replacement projects...

Hope you have more such great stuff in store!!!
 
Those were advanced development San Diego projects. You'll notice the absence of B-58 and related efforts (Super Hustler, for one), all Fort Worth. You'll notice the couple Big Stick (AKA SR-149, the study requirement that led to SLAM) and MBC (Mobile Base Cruise), chemical version of Big Stick. The MBC requirement led to a couple of early '60s programs named respectively CLAM and CLAMP. CLAMP is the real ancestor of modern day air-launched cruises. CLAM and CLAMP had a number of companies working on, one was CALAC. End of show of erudition.
