Designed for the long range high speed aerial mine laying mission in Outline Specification 125 (OS-125),
Convair's Model 52 was a competitor to the Martin P6M Seamaster.
  • The aircraft was to be powered by four Wright YJ67 axial flow turbojet engines.
  • Five man crew, Pilot and Co-pilot, Navigator-Minelayer, Radio-Radar-ECM Operator, and Tail Gunner
  • Inflight access to Mine Bay and Tail Turret
  • Inflight access to the engine accessory compartments
  • Mine Bay Design Capacity 20,000lbs
  • Maximum Mine Bay Capacity of 30,000lbs

The report states High Speed With Military Rating 587 knots (M=.888) at Sea Level, 522 knots (M=.91) at 35,000 ft.

Here is information on the beaching cradle which is quite an impressive assembly.

The second illustration shows the emergency exits. Ejection seats for the pilot and copilot,
everyone else uses an escape hatch.

It was funny, I was looking at your posts and thought that these sure seem familiar. Did you shoot the general arrangements as well? If not I can share that as well
