Claude Dornier tilt propeller design

Hi,


here is a model to Mr. Peter Freeborn for tilt propeller aircraft,based on a US
patent of 1921,that was in article about Dornier Do.29 in Luftfahrt 2/1980.

From what I understand, Peter Freeborn was merely the modeller who built the scale replica.


The design was the Dornier Do 29, and I believe that's what this topic should be called.
 
I think, the article shows, that the basic idea behind the Do 29, the post-war tilt-prop
aircraft, was much older, as proven by this patent.
The caption of the picture says "Do 29 - anno 1921", probably meaning an aircraft of the same
layout, but in the style of the '20s.
 
'Claude Dornier - Ein Leben für die Luftfahrt' by Joachim Wachtel shows the exact same patent drawing. Wachtel writes it concerns a US patent, granted in 1923 to Dornier.

Amazing. Perhaps she needed tail rotor.
