Considering there’s only been 1 naval gun adopted over 5” in decades yeah, a 6” gun is big....For 155mm values of "big". Interesting to see new naval tube artillery developments of any size.
It's a fully capable DP mount, judging by looks. It is intended for coastal bombardment during the invasion of Taiwan, not for anti-ship purposes.
Large caliber equivalents of LRMP and HVP will be interesting to seeIt is intended for coastal bombardment during the invasion of Taiwan, not for anti-ship purposes.
Maybe it would be on the ship in an obscured radome.Did anyone spot anything resembling a doppler radar to track final muzzle velocity? Velocimeters have been around for over 80 years.
It needs to be literally near the barrel to do its job. Think for a second how doppler works.Maybe it would be on the ship in an obscured radome.
Maybe it’d be elsewhere.
Sure, my mistake if so, but telemetry needn’t be Doppler nor placed closely. It needs to be literally near the barrel to do its job. Think for a second how doppler works.
Nuclear turboelectric power not required for this. Therefore, we may one day see a nuclear-powered warship with a displacement of twenty thousand tons appear in the future.
Mainly, I personally feel that in the future, the power consumption of warships will increase even more, and because of the upgrades in weapons and equipment, the hulls will also get bigger. By then, nuclear power will be a pretty good option.Nuclear turboelectric power not required for this.
A properly designed IEP system would also work.
I disagree, because of how expensive operating a naval nuclear power program gets.Mainly, I personally feel that in the future, the power consumption of warships will increase even more, and because of the upgrades in weapons and equipment, the hulls will also get bigger. By then, nuclear power will be a pretty good option.
