I still think that this design was a lost opportunity.
I think it would have made a great Close Air Support (CAS) aircraft for the USMC, what with its built in redundancy (both engines being interconnected in case of an engine failure & the effort that was required to actually destroy the prototype!)

Pity!

Could you do a CAS scene of the flying pancake - armed and firing cannon and rockets into an enemy beachhead?

I second that request but in either RAF Far Eastern Colours or better yet RNZAF WWII colours (say in something similar to that worn by kiwi F-4Us?

About the others XF5U drawings of M. Gatial there is my computer wallpaper too ;D and i remember that there was at least one drawing with a push-pull japanese fighter project of world war two :)
 
What happened ? I'm out for four days, and when I come back I found a whole bunch of awesome CGI... I've just spend 10 minutes watching this section of the forum, I'm STUNNED !!!! :eek:
