Hi everyone,
I wanted to kickoff my first contribution to this forum with something new.
Recently multiple media outlets reported about a C-40 rumored to have strike capabilities, like an AC-130J, P-8 Poseidon (at some point) and the list goes on...
I put some effort and did some (sort of) investigative work/research regarding the mysterious C-40 ISR strike aircraft. The aircraft is a heavily modified Boeing 737-700 (BBJ). Multiple companies and government contractors are rumored to be involved developing this highly modified aircraft. Mentioned were Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, Raytheon RTX, L3Harris, Boeing and GWP LLC.
The aircraft that catched my attention were 02-0042, 19-2404 and 21-0024, additional serials may follow.
02-0042 is strikingly similar to 19-2404, comm relay antennas are present and the serial number was removed from 02-0042 in late 2024.
21-0024 stands out from 02-0042 and 12-2404 due to missing comm relay antennas and C2 nodes (may have changed).
19-2404 and 21-0024 share the same aircraft paint, both aircraft are BBJ's purchased from private and foreign government owners.
In addition the regs. often include a combination between the numbers "2" and "4". But that could be anything.
C-40 reg. 19-2404 is often spotted with a modified P-8A Poseidon at coastal areas/ranges.
