British Army Equipment Secret Projects

With the success of recent books covering RAF and RN secret projects, how about someone completing the trio with something on all the weird stuff the Army got up to. There are tantalising references in published books on vehicles like Chieftain, FV 432 and Scorpion. If anyone is doing research out there, perhaps we can encourage them to do a book?

Some of it at least is mentioned in Bud/Gummett "Col War, Hot Science",
e.g. the COMRES 75, an experimental tank with external gun, or the
FV 4211, an experimental tank based on the Chieftain,to test the newly
developed Chobham armour.
