No hoax - the company and the airframes are real. Still in early testing stages, but the design is interesting to say the least.

The picture posted by Hesham is of an old concept, which has been refined since. IIRC, last month (or the month before) popular science had their personal air vehicle concept on the cover.
I know people who worked on it a couple of years back. Personally, I think there are less complicated ways of achieving VTOL than that contraption. Certainly you have to take the wild claims made on their website with a pinch of salt.
