Hi,

the Boeing Model-466 P3B was a patrol aircraft project,and
powered by two 5200 hp XT40-A engines,driving contra-
rotating airscrew;
has anyone a drawing to this Model ? please.

Hi,

if you have not a drawing,can you tell it was a flying boat
or normal aircraft ?.

The Boeing Model 466 was a land-based long range patrol aircraft
powered by two 5.200hp Allison XT-40 engines driven contraprops.
Span: 110ft. Lenght 90ft6in.Gross weght :92.000lb.
Tanden type undercarriage with outrigger wheels in engine gondola's.

service designation : XP3B-1 - type not built.
Boeing Aircraft since 1916 - Peter M.Bowers. Putnam .London1989.

Given the engines, it would've been unsuccessful, anyway. The Allison XT40 was the ruin of a number of otherwise good aircraft (Convair Tradewinds, NAA TurboSavage. Douglas Shyshark, etc.) and was two gas generators of the similarly unsuccessful XT38 driving a common gearbox. The XT38 went through a complete re-design to become the T56 and a corresponding development of the XT40 was proposed as the T54 but never built.

The overall description sounds roughly like a XB-55 derivative with only one engine pod on each side.

Very close Evan but the wings and tailplane were not swept..
