I believe, but I'm kind of the village idiot of my area and now nothing about this stuff.

Checks the interfaces with the booster/rocket/launch vehicle before mating the BGRV. Many spacecraft have an equivalent box or device.

And there were a couple of BGRVs tested in the 1960s... One off an Atlas, IIRC.
