Now the Aussie's are getting in the game with inward 3D sugar scoop spillage inlets in over\under configuration. Appears the Aussie's are picking up where the now defunct FALCON "Blackswift" concept left off.

Inward 3D type Billig inspired inlets to the max. Way to go Aussie's!!! USA has stepped back to 2D hyper inlet tech appears the Aussie's could soon rule the 3D realm with the Chinese who are also hot into the 3D inlet tech.

I haven't read that many papers comparing (mixed) external compression inlets with all internal compression inlets but it looks to me like those inward 3D type inlets might rather be a technological hype like nano technology. They need to be a LOT longer (=heavier) than (mixed) external compression inlets and from what I've read, bleed requirements are also significantly higher, although that's from older papers. I don't know what'spossible now. Main advantage that is claimed of all internal compression inlets is less surface area needs cooling, other advantage is higher pressure recovery is possible. Increases in the amount of internal compression also increases the headaches with regard to unstarts.
