I ended up using the same arrangement too. It's just a much more efficient use of volume than tandem bays. At only 81 m3, there's so much real-estate.
I think IWBs for heavy / outsized payloads, like the JASSM depicted, should be positioned closer to the centre line. This would be beneficial from a structural point of view. Big cavities close to the wing root might be an issue, and the main landing gears have to go somewhere as well. Furthermore, for IWBs positioned close to the centre line, I would leave room for a "keel" in the middle.
